A few things
you may be wondering.
Start with the basics, then talk with us about your situation.
Do I need officiating experience?
No prior officiating or playing experience is required to express interest. The chapter offers a training program for new officials and can explain the registration requirements.
What training is available?
Classroom and on-field sessions cover rules, mechanics, and positioning. Learning continues as you work with experienced officials.
Can this fit around my work schedule?
You choose your availability and do not have to work particular days. Sub-varsity evenings usually run from 4:30 or 5 p.m. to 9 or 9:30 p.m., plus travel and pregame preparation. Friday-night varsity assignments depend on readiness and availability.
What are the costs and game fees?
Budget about $150–$200 for a uniform, plus TASO state dues. First-year local dues are waived for new officials. See the steps and expected costs, or contact the chapter for current game pay and travel-payment details.
